The dataset contains 2158 records belonging to 22 families. Specimen records include some accepted names and synonyms, all of which were collected from 1970’s to date. Specimens were collected from different parts of Sub Saharan Africa, with records from Botswana standing at 2078, while the remaining specimens were collected from Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa and Zimbabwe. Around 40% of the Hymenoptera records in the collection were received by the museum as a donation from the former Entomologist Per Forchhammer.
